En cette période où les droits des femmes et de la population LGTBQ+ sont au cœur de l’attention médiatique, nous sommes heureux d’apporter notre soutien à la recherche dans le domaine essentiel des études féminines, de genres et sur la sexualité, par l’intermédiaire de notre compétition annuelle. Poursuivons le débat.

Les Éditions Peter Lang sont heureuses d’annoncer le Prix Peter Lang 2022 pour les jeunes chercheurs en études féminines, de genres et sur la sexualité.
Nous invitons tous les chercheurs en début de carrière qui sont actifs dans les domaines des études féminines, de genre, et sur la sexualité à soumettre leur projet de monographie, qui sera évalué par un comité éditorial de spécialistes. Les propositions peuvent être interdisciplinaires ou appartenir à l’une des disciplines suivantes : Études culturelles, Sciences de l’éducation. Histoire, Droit et Économie, Littérature, Médias et Communication, Sciences Politiques. Les projets axés sur des perspectives régionales (par ex. irlandaises, suisses, etc.) sont également les bienvenus.
Les propositions doivent être envoyés à editorial@peterlang.com avec la communication « Emerging Scholars Competition » (ou via le formulaire en ligne ci-dessous) jusqu’au 15 octobre 2022 et consistent en une synthèse (incluant un résumé de chaque chapitre), un chapitre échantillon (5000 à 10000 mots de longueur), un CV, et une déclaration expliquant en quoi vous êtes un jeune chercheur, chacun sur un document word séparé. Les propositions déjà en cours d’expertise ailleurs ne doivent pas être envoyées.
Le/la lauréat(e) se verra offrir un contrat de publication pour le livre primé. Les futurs manuscrits doivent compter entre 60 000 et 100 000 mots et être écrits en anglais, français, espagnol ou allemand. Les auteurs devront préparer leur manuscrit conformément aux instructions qui leur seront envoyées.
Le/la lauréat(e) sera désigné le 1er décembre 2022 et la décision lui sera notifiée peu après.
Histoire
La Prix Peter Lang pour les jeunes chercheurs est un concours annuel pour des chercheurs en début de carrière, dans certaines disciplines. Il a été organisé chaque année depuis 2011 dans certaines disciplines comme les « Black studies », les études irlandaises, les écritures de femmes, les sciences de l’éducation, les études francophones et d’autres encore.
Dans chaque compétition, les jeunes chercheurs sont invités à soumettre leurs propositions de monographies pour expertise par un comité éditorial spécialement créé. Les vainqueurs se verront offrir un contrat pour un livre totalement financé, ainsi que le titre de lauréat. Les seconds prix et autres participants pourront aussi se voir proposer des opportunités de publication.
Nous sommes fiers d’avoir une communauté de plus de 30 lauréats de la compétition au fil des années, et nous sommes heures de présenter certains des ouvrages vainqueurs. Dani is interested in continuing to develop the Education list’s inclusive, intersectional, and interdisciplinary scope with attention to equity and access. Some areas of interest include gender studies, race studies, social justice and anti-oppression work, curriculum design and pedagogy, LGBTQ+ and queer studies, and history of institutions.

Laurel is Senior Acquisitions Editor for the Language, Literature and Culture list. She began working in the publishing industry in 1995 and joined Peter Lang in 2010. She holds a PhD in Literature with a focus in French and German. Her core commissioning areas are modern languages and literatures, cultural studies and visual culture. She manages specialized series in memory studies, women’s writing, genre fiction, comparative literature, film studies, art history, translation studies, critical race studies, medical humanities and disability studies, among others. She is delighted to speak with scholars about new book and series proposals.

Benjamin Kloss has been working at Peter Lang since 2004. After studying Hispanic language & literature, English language & literature and psychology at the Free University of Berlin and the University of Salamanca, he worked as a research fellow at the Free University of Berlin from 1999 to 2004, where he was awarded a PhD in Romance studies. As a senior acquisitions editor at Peter Lang, he is responsible for Romance studies, Slavic studies, philosophy and education.

Ulrike Döring studied German Language and Literature and Pedagogy at the University of Stuttgart and graduated with a master’s degree. Before joining Peter Lang, she has worked as an editor for a German specialist book publisher for many years. Since December 2018, she is responsible for the German and Linguistics program at Peter Lang’s Bern office and looks forward to discussing book and series proposals, particularly on linguistic and literary topics.

Thierry Waser holds an MA in French literature and contemporary history from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). He started working for Peter Lang in 2008, first in the Bern office, before joining the Brussels office in 2015, where he works as the deputy managing director and senior commissioning editor. He speaks French, German and English. Subject areas: History, sociology, linguistics, philosophy, law, ecology and environmental studies.

Tony has been working in publishing since the early 1990s and is Senior Commissioning Editor, Ireland and the UK. He commissions books in the fields of Irish studies, education, and international relations. Tony is very interested in receiving book proposals and series ideas in these areas. He previously worked for Manchester University Press, Kogan Page and Prentice Hall among others. He has a particular interest in commissioning books on Ireland and has vast experience in that area.

Niall Kennedy is Senior Acquisitions Editor for Media and Communication at Peter Lang. He is acquiring titles in all areas of Communication, Journalism, Public Relations and Media Studies. He has worked in academic publishing for 12 years. He has experience of commissioning a wide range of titles, including textbooks, professional texts, and scholarly research publications in the areas of Media and Cultural Studies and Business and Management for leading academic publishers. He graduated with an MA in Journalism in 2008.
